FREEDOM – THE SENSUAL LIAISONS SERIES BOOK ONE
“She couldn’t help wonder more than a little wistfully what Pete was doing right now?  Whether he was missing her or whether he too was planning on celebrating his first official night of freedom by having sex with a random stranger.”
Newly divorced and after spending years trapped in a soul-less marriage, Zara Cockburn is ready for anything and intends to make full use of the naughty little kit of sex toys, lubricants and condoms that her friends have put together for her.  This is   HER night, HER freedom night, a once in a lifetime kind of night.
A night of fulfilled prophecies
A night of sexual deviance with a handsome and hypnotic stranger
A night that will end in a “special request” that she will find herself yielding to
It is also a night in which she will unwittingly become embroiled in the twisted mind-games of a time-travelling highwayman and a young woman executed for witchcraft in 17th Century England.
Who is the Highwayman and what does he need from her? Will  Zara seal her fate or gain her coveted Freedom?
One thing’s for certain; her life will never be the same again.
Freedom is the first in a series of erotic romances chronicling the journey of the highwayman as he makes his way back to the young woman who holds the key to his heart.

Where did the inspiration for this story come from?  What is the story behind the story so to speak?
I have always been fascinated by Paganism and felt that the story of the Newcastle witches was just aching to be told.  It is my intention to tell it fully across all six planned books in the series.   I love dark, flawed alpha-males and strong, fiery women. Elizabetha is most definitely that. I also liked the idea of pairing the lead male with a different woman in each book all the while telling his "real" love story, this hasn't really been done very much before and I like to test the boundaries. I also think it is fairly realistic - let's face it very few of us end up spending our lives with the first person that we have sex with and having a healthy sexual appetite is not something to be ashamed of!

Tell us about the book cover. How does it represent your book?  How did you choose the artwork?
I worked closely with my cover designer on that. I had a fairly good idea what I wanted. The cover reflects a scene from Freedom and also has a modern day Newcastle in the backdrop.

Just who would put time-travel, lust, revenge AND a leading man that puts Christian Gray in the shade all in the same book?
Meet Luna Ballantyne!
This heady mix comes together in the form of Freedom, The Sensual Liaisons Series Book One and is the first in this series of erotic romances (yep, there is eroticism in there too!).  Now the big question is, does Luna draw from her own unique life experiences or is this all just pure fantasy.  It is fair to say that many men would love to believe that the leading man is based on them but Luna is remaining tight-lipped about the inspiration behind her lothario.  So what of her leading lady?  Is there a little of Luna in this wanton vixen?  Possibly!
Residing in her home in Newcastle upon Tyne, Luna is proud of her Geordie roots; so much so that she has chosen to set her novel in her home town.  Not only does she feature some of the hotspots of today but manages to merge in a historical depiction of Newcastle of the past, complete with the paranoia and distrust that led to the infamous witch trials.
Not one to sit back and take it easy , Luna is already busy working on The Sensual Liaisons Series Book Two, Compromised.  Even the title suggests that we are in for more of her wicked side and this book promises to deliver everything that Freedom does and more.  And if that wasn’t enough, Luna is also planning to release a lesbian romance and a historical romance in the not too distant future.  Not to mention (of course) more of the Sensual Liaisons Series.
A firm believer in female empowerment, Luna sets out to write books that depict women as strong individuals who know what they want and how to ask for it.  This is never truer than when it comes to the subject of sex and that’s what makes her Sensual Liaisons Series so enticing to read – for men and women alike.
So for those who dare to recognize and embrace their sexuality; that who are not afraid and unashamedly explore the world of erotica – Luna Ballantyne is very pleased to meet you!
She is the pen name of Author Ingrid Hall.

Where do the ideas for your books come from?
It has been suggested that they are based on real life experiences but I am remaining tight-lipped about that!  One thing I will say is that I consider myself to be a strong woman and love writing books that support female empowerment; particularly in the erotic romance genre.
Coming from Newcastle upon Tyne (England), I am also extremely proud of my Geordie roots.  Choosing Newcastle as the setting for my novel was too good an opportunity to miss.
Have you ever co-written book/books? If so was it difficult? If not would you ever consider co-writing with another author?
This is not something that I have done but I am open-minded to the idea.  I think it would make for an interesting challenge.
Where do you get your character names from?
I create the persona for my characters and then conjure up a name that I feel best reflects their personality.  I steer clear from using names of people I know … too many potential pitfalls!
What type of research goes into your writing?
Given that I write erotica, I think I will leave this particular question to your imagination!
Are your family and friends supportive of your writing?
Of course and they are extremely patient when my ‘artistic temperament’ comes out to play.  I would find it difficult to do what I do without their continued support and encouragement.
Do you remember when your interest in writing came about?
My father was a writer so I guess it runs in the blood.  I have always loved reading – English Literature was my favorite subject at school and I have quite the imagination (as was often written in my school reports!).
Other than writing what are your interest?
I love to socialize – I am what you might call a social butterfly and am never happier than when I am out with friends.  One of my favorite past-times is people watching; it is such a great way to develop new characters and allow reality to blend with fantasy.
Did you learn anything from writing your books, if so what was it?
That writing a book is both the most joyful and frustrating of experiences.  You need to be prepared for the swing of that pendulum and learn to accept that it comes with the territory.  I am still working on that one.
What are your current WIP? Can you share with us?
I am busy working on the second book in The Sensual Liaisons Series.  It is called Compromised and promises to be everything that Freedom was and more.  I am enjoying bringing out my wicked side!
