Interview Unforgiven by Cat Miller A Forbidden Bond Blog Tour

Monday, July 30, 2012
Today on the blog I have the Awesome Cat Miller the Author of The Forbidden Bond Series. This Series looks extremely promising I read Unbound and was hooked and had a fan girl squee moment when I was asked to be apart of this awesome tour. I had an even bigger squee moment when Cat gave me an E~ARC  of Unforgiven. And I must say this series will keep you glued to your seat and reading to wee hours of the morning because you will not want to put these books down.

I was able to pick Cat's brain with an interview for my stop on the tour. Cat told me I had asked her very good questions she actually had to think to answer them so exciting. On to the interview but stick around to the end there might be a treat in store but no spoilers here.

RBTL ~ What do you feel the pros and cons of being an Indie Author is?

Cat ~ I feel that being able to set your own schedule and not having editors with the right to change or delete parts of your story are big pros to being an indie author. I also think not having to split your profits is a pro. On the other hand you don’t have an editing team or promoters to do all the little things that distract you from the actual writing as an indie author. You may not have to share your profits as an indie but without a publisher your work doesn’t reach as many people. Therefor there is far less profit. These are big cons to being an indie author.

RBTL ~ Who has been your biggest inspiration?

Cat ~ Anne Rice and Laura Adrian

RBTL ~ What are some of your writing rituals and/or quirks?

Cat ~ I keep a composition book with me everywhere I go. I often find myself writing down ideas for my books. If I’m stuck on a particular scene I usually need to get up and walk away from the laptop. I have worked out many a plot blah during a drive around the neighborhood.

RBTL ~ Do you work with an outline or just write?

Cat ~ I work with a storyboard. I have all my main events plotted out first. Then I fill in the spaces in between as I write.

RBTL ~ Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in anyway either growing up or as an adult?

Cat ~ There is one particular book in Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter Series that left a mark on me. Have you ever read Acheron? It’s a two part book that spans the life of a boy who survives mental, physical, and sexual abuse to become the unwilling leader of the Dark Hunters. After a 10,000 year life of rejection, loneliness, and self-sacrifice he finally finds his salvation in the form of a human woman. The first half of the book is at times heart wrenching and hard to read due to the abuse. The second half made me cry, laugh, and swoon with envy. It’s one of my all-time favorites.

RBTL ~ Which character did you enjoy writing the most?Least?

Cat ~ I think Danielle is my favorite character. She is exactly what I hope I have I raised my girls to be; smart, compassionate, accepting, and she will never let you down. Her appearance made her stand out her whole life but she always held her head high. I hope all of us will take a page from her book and love ourselves for our differences. If you were just like me, and I was just like the next guy, none of us would be special.
I also enjoyed writing for Vince. He is this big tattooed, muscle bound security guard that only refers to himself in the third person. I love him.
I don’t think I dislike writing for any particular character.
RBTL ~ Any parting words for your fans?
I would like to thank my readers for spending their valuable time with me and my character. I started writing for me. I continue to write for them as well as myself. Thank you for walking the streets and roaming the rooms I have created while you living along with my characters in their world. Without my readers that world doesn’t exist.

I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and now I live not far from my birth place in Perry Hall, Maryland. I have two teenage daughters and a man that keep me busy when I'm not working full-time as a Certified Medical Coder. I'm an avid reader and I love all genre of romantic fiction from historical to comtemporary to paranormal. Sleeping has always been a problem for me so most nights I can be found in the living room reading or writing instead of in bed like the rest of the world. I don't watch television. It's not a conscious desicion, it just never occurs to me to turn it on when I have books to read and writing to do. It can actually be a hazard, because I never know what the weather will be until I look outside and I have to rely on my kids and coworkers for local and world news. I love creating the characters you love and love to hate. My characters remind me of people I know and people I wish I had never known. I love hearing from readers. There is no greater compliment than hearing that others have enjoyed the work you put your heart into. So please see the contact page if you have any comments or just want to say hello. I always respond.

Ok so I promised a little treat are you ready for it. Its  a Yummy treat.

Sometimes the bad guys have a good reason. Could you forgive the unforgiven?

My Thoughts

I am really enjoying this series and  I love watching the characters grow. Cat has created a world I would love to live in and I enjoy being transported there every time I picked up the book. Cat has fantastic world setting abilities with very good description. I enjoyed seeing Brandi's character grow and develop into the young women. I am going to eagerly await the next installment in this series and you should too. Cat should be an author that we keep at the top of our list.

More of a review to come but still no teasers sorry. But it is worth the wait. I promise.
