Blood Mate, a dark fairy tale...

Nicole has been happily married to big shot attorney, Dominic Rose for ten years, but soon after their anniversary he grows cold—as if she doesn’t exist. Meanwhile, another man has been pursuing her far too intently for comfort.
August Corinth is a six-hundred-year-old vampire, cursed to kill and suffer the pain of his victims each night until and unless he can find the one woman who can resist his thrall, his blood mate. Once he’s found her, there are no lines he won’t cross to claim the promised salvation even if it means taking away everything and everyone she loves.

You know that sometimes we come across books that just deserve more than a 5 Star Rating Well for me this was just one of those books. So my rating is a 5+
Okay I have been a Kitty Thomas Fan Since I read The Last Girl and every since than I devour each new release and wait impatiently for the next new release. So that brings us to my thoughts on Blood Mate which is the newest release.

This story is dark and so beautifully written. Like all of Kitty Thomas's Books there is no HEA so to speak no Knight in Shining Armor coming to the rescue. In Blood Mate we get to see just how fragile the human psyche is. Nicolette a happily married woman learns there is far more evil things out there than you can image and she just happens to sell her soul to the devil himself so to speak when she agrees to be a Blood Mate. August a vampire who is cursed to drink the blood of his victims until they die unless he can find the one woman whom he cannot enthrall, and  Dominic (Nicolette's Husband) her soul mate. The one she would do anything to just be with him. All three of their lives is turned upside in the amazing mind fuck of a read. I love the setting, and  the characters are amazing. Yes I like the evil sadistic Vampire August the most but only because I prefer the bad boys. Dominic is amazing in his own wholesome and sweet way just not the one for me. Though I would not mind being in Nicolette's place in the end. She gets her cake and can eat it too. So in away who is too say there is no HEA because everyone's HEA is different than the next person's. Kitty characters are amazing and well developed. I recommend this book to anyone that can think outside the proverbial box. Like all of Kitty's Books this is NOT a VAMPIRE ROMANCE. And NOT all VAMPIRES are sparkly.

Kitty Thomas writes dark erotic fiction with a literary edge and more psychology than sex. She believes fiction is meant to challenge the reader, not teach morality. If you haven't developed morals by the time you start reading erotica, it's probably too late.
