Synopsis: Anya Millar had no memory of her life or an instruction manual on how to navigate the insane world of humans, biting, and reality. Instead, Anya has had to learn to navigate the world of love, life, and sanity while avoiding those that would see her dead or enslaved.Anya must come to terms with who she is and her missing past, Nicholas must win back the object of his eternal love while dealing with new cravings in his silent heart, and Declán must learn to destroy the very creatures that he has unequivocally given his heart and blood. This is the ongoing journey of Anya and Nicholas, human loving vampires and the human they love, Declán. What makes it all more complicated is that they are abominations in their own world and Declán is a natural born vampire hunter called a Guardian.

Harm None, Love All (and NO biting)

Tell us the story behind the story. What inspired you to write this novel?

The story of how Blood’s Voice came to be is a little odd to most that hear/read it. I was chatting with my husband about characters for a RPG we were starting (paper and dice style RPG, btw, lol) and I started discussing this twisted idea I had for a vampire with amnesia. After discussing this for a bit, he suggested I should write all of it down and that it would make a fun story to read – though he didn’t think it would work for our game :( . I spoke to a couple of friends about the idea, thinking hubbs was nuts, but they all agreed with him and encouraged me to try writing, turning my ideas and ramblings into an actual book.

I thought, yeah, right . . . like anyone would want to read my imagination. But, in the end I decided to try and see where things lead. As I wrote the story, things I hadn’t planned to happen snuck in and characters took over, lol. In the end, I am thankful for the encouragement and push that my loved ones gave me and Anya, Nicholas, and Declán have become beloved characters in a contemporary, yet paranormal world that I enjoy (in fact, I’m working on book 3 now, Glamour Blade).

Tell us about the book cover.

The cover to Blood’s Voice is of Anya, a vampire that is unique even among other vamps. There are also two roses on the cover. The red rose represents Nicholas Young, her vampiric beloved, and the white is for Declán, her human lover. There is also a blood tear, which you have to read the story to truly understand the reasons behind.

How does it represent your book? How did you choose the artwork?

Each piece represents something that is key to the story in Blood’s Voice. As to how I chose the cover . . . I searched on various image sites hunting for something that would fit my idea of how Anya and her loves should be depicted. When I found the image you see on the cover, I fell in love. I added the tear, of course, and the text but the artwork was too perfect to alter.

But, she’s been reading the likes of Shakespeare and Poe since late elementary school and enjoys most forms of fiction. Blood’s Voice has been a long time in coming and with its publication (June 1st 2011) Áine embarked on a new chapter in her life.
